I posted my comment because the linked proposal itself never uses the abbreviation "KYC" and none of the early comments spelled it out, so if (like me) you didn't already know what it means a quick Ctrl-F wouldn't help.

For those who didn't know, KYC stands for "know your customer". It's a good idea to spell out abbreviations the first time they're used, especially since the abbreviation itself is not used in the linked article. It

Where are you located? 3-4 weeks seems very slow for JLCPCB. Are you shipping to South America or something? If you can afford the time, effort, and expense needed to move to China, maybe you should look into working with a local board shop

It’s impressive that developers could afford to make custom ICs for only one or two games. I wouldn’t have thought the revenue would be enough to justify that.

An RTC really needs a battery, and even a smaller battery like a 1220 takes up a fair bit of board space -- space that could be used for another connector or more functionality. And even if you have an RTC, you still have to handle the edge

I'm not sure about the larger issues surrounding the lunar time standard, but 55 microseconds per day is about 0.64 ppb. Even good OCXOs drift more than that. A standard crystal oscillator like the kind used in computers drifts by mult

It's really two or three steps -- select menu item, dialogue box page is already selected by default, click on checkbox. I was giving the full navigation. Personally, I find that making every part of the UI an active control makes it e

My advice is to just turn the toolbar off (Settings -> Preferences -> General -> Toolbar -> Hide). I find it easier to skim through menus. You can turn off almost all of the extra UI elements if you want, which makes the interfa

IIRC the 1% duty cycle is an EU restriction. The US 915 MHz band has a 400 millisecond dwell time restriction instead.

Fun fact: integrated circuit packages put stress on the die. It’s called “package stress”, and when I worked in flash memory testing we would see measurable shifts in analog circuit behavior after packaging.

Title should be either "4,000,000,000,000 Transistors" (as in the actual video title) or "4 Trillion Transistors" or maybe "4T Transistors". "4B,000" ("four billion thousand"?) looks like 48

What I mean is that a simple key combination is easier to use than an Alt code or having to copy and paste from another document. The ASCII table stuff is just fun trivia. "Press Ctrl-_ to insert a column separator" isn't any

You can actually type a bunch of ASCII control characters very easily on a keyboard. Look at an ASCII table with 32 characters per column (I like this one[1]). The key combo for a control character is Ctrl + the letter on the same row as th

There's an ASCII character for escaping, too, if you need it. The advantage of ASV is not that you can't have invalid or insecure data, it's that valid data will almost never contain ASCII control characters in the record fie

USV would have the disadvantage of using multi-byte characters as delimiters, so you have to decode the file in order to separate records. And you still can’t type the characters directly or be guaranteed to display them without font suppor

Tangential question: How can an algorithm end up with a fractional exponent? It's clear to me how nested loops can give O(n^2) or O(n^2), and how a binary search can give O(log n), but how on earth can you get something like O(n^2.3715

The US has been supporting Taiwan's de facto independence since the 1950s. I'm not sure what's supposed to be unsustainable about that, or what "things" are supposed to "collapse".
