Coinbase and GDAX products operate differently. Coinbase is a counter-party in all trades e.g., people buy FROM Coinbase or sell TO Coinbase. So $1B revenue number would include all deposits. GDAX accounting would only count commissions as

I wouldn't bet on it. Coinbase valuation will drop drastically when Tether bubble pops and bear market sets in.

FileCoin and Upfiring both claim to have this PoW, but their Github repos are empty and their Reddit channels are drowning in shilling.

Ah PoS, the "Rich get richer" algorithm. Ethereum's PoS implementation requires lock up of balances in stake accounts, so it removes any incentive to do transactions. I believe that ETH PoS will calcify the economic strata, k

My assumption is that someone using wallets / exchanges is a far more likely to be a price speculator focused on short-term gains. Any producer contributing to the Bitcoin economy would require a full node.

Tether is a foreign company, so the raid has to be from international authorities... but boy that raid story will rival Silk Road or Megaupload stories.

You should look at daily volume: BTC daily trade volume = $14B Tethers sloshing around in market today = $1.6B Thus Tethers represent 14% of the market. If MtGox crash was due to a 5% heist, this 14% scam will wipe out Bitcoin and establis

Couldn't agree more with the endgame you described. It will be same as MtGox's last month when prices were $2,000 higher there while everyone was trying to sell off at more liquid exchanges.

That would cause high prices on Bitfinex due to Bitcoin buying, while deflating prices on Coinbase and Gemini due to cash outs. During the last month of MtGox it was common to see $2,000 price gap between Gox and US exchanges. I have a fee

The problem people have with Tether is their promise of 1 USDT = 1 USD. Tether was kicked out of their HK and Taiwan banks, and now they are banking in Caribbean islands. They are supposedly holding $1.55 Billion USD cash in one of those b

Coinbase code is still horrible. I have found couple of bugs/failure points in their code, but Fred Erhsam was a jerk to me so I don't feel like reporting these issues to CB.

Proof-of-Stake is a rich-get-richer algorithm. If you hold 1% of the coins, you will mine 1% of the blocks and keep those block rewards. Ethereum has been a promising platform for innovation. It is doomed to become a shill infested cesspo
