   Yes i guess that was a wise move but i think i would consider myself to be what you would call "Reddit crowd". But not all of them are like that. Its about culture and it usually takes some time for people to adapt to a new "culture".

   Well today, i feel great. I am essentially glad that the community can stand as a whole and keep aside their mutual competitive agendas. Today will defiantly be seen as a special day when they teach "internet history" to the next generation

   Yes that comment really helps but if i am getting it right, it is something like JSON, right? like JSON is used in public API's and all sorts of server-client communication. Any particular reason to take SOAP against something like JSON?

   Yes, i see it now, there seems to be some confusion as to the need of the article. It makes more sense in a tutorial perspective and is needed to pull people off of jquery. Thanks for clarification. :)

   agreed, canvas will probably perform better because it is made for animations where as DOM was not made with animation in mind. Plus canvas animations are, in some cases, hardware accelerated i believe?

   maybe i am not getting something here but isn't this obvious? native c++ will be faster than javascript (which also compiles to c++ (i believe?) but does not have hardware acceleration and is single threaded [in case of jquery atleast]). Li

    google apps is great if you have a small team and dont want the email overhead. i have VPS+Gapps

    But they are divided into individual users and the space belongs to the users and not tumblr/wordpress. I don't think changing other's blogs would be a very good idea and will be frowned upon.

    Contractor, i guess? I dont bill by hour because my work productivity highly depends on my mood, so hourly rate would be unfair. A project wise prefixed rte s what i look for.

    Passwords? plain text? that makes no sense, if they were popular Chinese websites why in the world would they store plain text passwords? doesn't matter if it was on client side or server side.

    Suggestion: we should only be able to add ourselves. Google+ API. Because this will make sure only active users are added. Everyone knows celebrities like Mark Zuckerberg and Linus Torvalds. This way the list remains short and spam reduces.

    I believe this was inevitable. especially since TC's core team took off. Its usually not pretty there, with more than 50 posts in a couple of days. My reader is usually overblown with TC and i read very few of them. Looking forward to what

    What is the motive? Comparing the whole of reddit with HN will do no good. Obviously reddit has more users because of its diverse set of sub reddits. Or is there anything i am missing here?

    Why the downvotes? If we can have a lower limit then why not upper limit. They may have an advisory status but voting rights should not be given to "old" people.
