An utter bitch to type compared to a short string of garbage, though, and typing a URL manually (friend gives you a URL over the phone or in person) is the only case I can think of where the URL itself matters.

You're wrong on both counts. B is still to the left of A on N64 controllers, and the PlayStation launched a year before the N64 in America.

As I said in another comment, almost every Megadrive game I've played lets you use both A and C for accept in menus, so you could use whichever orientation you were more comfortable with. I think anyone who started with Nintendo consol

I wanted to make something like this a few years, really cool to see someone actually go out there and do it. This design seems to be framebuffer-based, a straightforward hardware acceleration of the method you would use for software 2D ren

OTOH you can cache the decoded microops (IIRC modern Intel chips do this, while modern AMD and the original Pentium cached instruction boundaries), and in thumb mode ARM is also variable length.

This is really cool. My one gripe is that it uses the crummy Atari 2600 version of the Space Invaders sound effects, when the analog-synthesized arcade soundtrack is the one that everyone remembers. https://www.youtube.com/w

Does the go linker attempt any dead code elimination across libraries? Static linking is handy for distributing binaries but 8 megabytes does seem a bit excessive for a relatively simple program. Then again, it isn't so out of place no

No, x32 is still long mode (64-bit), it's just an ABI that restricts all memory allocations to 4 gigabytes of address space so that 4-byte pointers can safely be used instead of 8-byte ones. You can get a similar effect by manually mma

I have a cable internet connection and know the difference between a modem and a router. You'll have to take my word for it that every time I change my router's MAC address, my public IP does as well.

If you have a dynamic IP address (most people do), getting a new IP is as simple as changing a byte in your router's MAC address.

Wifi is very convenient, but adds latency, drops more packets than a CAT5 cable will, is (theoretically speaking) easier to eavesdrop upon, and degrades much more quickly than wired connections do when the number of clients is high. That&#x

I think you're too quick to dismiss the value of older texts. I first "got" assembly language from reading the infamous 6502.txt, which was probably somewhere between 10 and 20 years old at that point, and written about a tot

If you really want to optimize data cache usage, use a bitvector and (either through compiler intrinsics or inline assembly) your CPU's bit-scanning instructions. This can reduce the storage requirement to 1 bit per object and skip up
