Yeah, I agree with all of that. Dim comments, tint strings and preprocessor/template/macro stuff, and we're good. Everything else is pointless at best and annoying when it inevitably screws up (color standard library function

You can syntax highlight assembly, it's just not terribly useful since the structure is so consistent and simple to begin with. Syntax highlighting in general is kinda silly. I'm sad that people turn their noses up at code that is

General purpose high level languages[1] didn't become practical in commercial game development[2] for even what we would consider to be "non-critical" code until Doom, the PlayStation era for consoles, and the Game Boy Advanc

Many famous Nintendo games have been publicly disassembled before, and Nintendo is either unaware or turns a blind eye. The only different thing about this disassembly is that it is hosted on GitHub, where it is much more likely to be seen

Dropbox, at least, lets you select which directories get synced per device, i.e. so your desktop and HTPC can share movies but your phone never sees any of them.

That's a neat idea, but as someone who has played a few niche online games before, players tend to figure out on their own what the most active hours are (e.g. evening to a bit past midnight EST for English speakers).

IIRC almost every online game for the Xbox 360 uses the P2P strategy (which is funny, given that Microsoft charges for online), so I wouldn't say that it isn't common or viable. You don't see it as much in PC games because PC

Chrom(e|ium) can do some of these things! You can use shift and control clicks just like in a file browser to select tabs, then drag the whole selection to another window, or off to the side to create a new one. Easily movable tabs + a tili

I think the tabs vs spaces problem is silly and nobody should be using spaces[1]. Compilers should treat leading spaces as a syntax error. Clearly we both can't be pleased. ;) [1] Except in Lisp.

I think it's worth noting that there's never been a "weird" WM/DE that attracted a sizeable userbase purely on its own merits. Gnome 3 and Unity were to a great extent forced upon their users. If there were real b
