All APIs are experimental and in a state of constant flux and evolution, including the web. The only time status quo is fine is when it's for clients and employers who just want stuff done and don't care how. In that context, all

Actually maybe this is one way to explan it: When Pico 8 came out, I immediately had a feeling of recognition and familiarity: "Oh! So this is the app I was half dreaming of making all these years!* The app I'm making now gives

Thanks! It's hard to know exactly why. What I do know is that I'm surprised week after week with breakthroughs I never dreamed possible and which I think other people will find very useful, and these each renew my excitement.

Sure, I don't disagree. But so is deviating from that standard. I'm just talking about people who are overly restrictive of their own language usage. The best authors broke rules and made up words as needed.

Only this modern article[1]. Can't find any scholars or Church Fathers on this. Seems to be an entirely new theory in history, most likely because women were dismissed as possible author since (a) Hebrews 11:32 uses a masculine first p

I admitted it was superficial. But it's the same reason I find English more natural than Italian or Greek. I grew up with C. We're only human after all.

Yep. I love finding someone's old project on github and going through it and especially comparing it to stuff they did release and seeing how it was merely a stepping stone and a way for them to learn something. That significantly in

Definitely something I've worried about. But a major architectural change is different than an improvement. I've left a lot of low hanging fruit for me to fix up after release. But with this change it would literally become a new,

I once had a list similar in time and length. It was a great portfolio, but I slowly realized I just made it to remind myself I'm not a perpetually incapable imbecile. Deleting it and giving away those projects was so freeing. I had no

Do you mean at runtime but only once at startup, like parsing a Lua program into bytecode? Or do you mean at true compile time like Zig and Rust format strings?

Rather, QB was the pico8 of the 1990s. Convenient, self-contained, mysterious, quasi-powerful, in-app help menu for the entire language and API, and a few built-in demo games.

The only inherent feature of JSX is compile time "parsing" whereas tagged literals inherently require runtime string parsing. But yeah other than that you're right. I'm just talking about first-class VS Code support. W

Matt, who works pretty high level on VS Code, has written some amazing plugins. But they still don't have all the first-class features of JSX. I don't think this plugin works with type checking for instance.
