The recipe in the article is a good example of why this it is difficult to convince people to change their habits of eating a quick sugary breakfast. The recipe involves making 3 different items: polenta, salsa and poached eggs. The polenta

Off topic: In the first crash test video in the article [0], does the rear seat completely detach from the car?? And that was a car that after NHTSA crash-testing ... basically received a perfect score . It's always amazing to me to

A very important gotcha with this approach is that any variable named "i" will be reset to 0 inside of the lock, and modifying "i" inside of the lock can cause an infinite loop. This can be mitigated by generating a uniq

My experience with government contracts differs from that. Most of the contracts we get are because we have worked with the Contracting Officer previously and had done good work, or were introduced to them by a mutual contact. Of course tha

Some Costco stores have an on-site optometrist that will do a vision check for ~$50. The last time I got my eyes checked, I went to a Lens Crafters type store that was having a special for an eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $99. Of cour

That's a pretty weak endorsement... "could help" doesn't mean "would help". It just looks like the author didn't choose their words carefully enough.

There's a Chinese patent on putting a data center in space [0], and a US patent for a partially submerged data center [1], but I can't find anything for putting a data center under the stairs... you should patent it! [0] https:

Remember that you get what you pay for. I had a very cheap VPS ($1.61 per month) for a few months until it went down. I got an email 2 days later saying that the hosting company was being kicked out of their data center because one of their

Facebook won't let you use characters from multiple alphabets, so you'd have to change all the letters in your name to their Cyrillic equivalents.

I, and other people I know, replace a letter in our names with an accented one. As long as you stay in the UTF-8 Latin alphabet, Facebook won't complain about the name change; and as far as I can tell this completely removes me from se

Is is just me or is the code source really hard to understand? It's cool that you can represent such complex shapes with just a few lines of code in Mathmatica, but without comments and with all the single letter variables, it's h

"Silly" was perhaps a strong word. My point was that there are a lot of heat maps of the US that have a similar distribution, and those similarities could very well be due to a spurious relationship.
