My 13” 2015 rmbp is my favorite notebook of all time. My dad uses it now. I didn’t find it to run that hot and generally found it to be the best windows laptop (via vm) money could buy at the time.

Orion was a letdown for me. I’ve tried multiple times to switch over but basic things like autofill not working consistently were dealbreakers.

The only reason I would pay for nitro at this point is to not see the ads.

I hope the funds will enable them to finally invest in making users aware of what a great deal nitro is. I get why Meta never acquired them (couldn’t) but I’m surprised Amazon and especially Valve never did.

I have not seen this answer so I’ll chime in: There is a lot of enthusiasm around language models for OCR and I have found that generally they work well, however I have had much better results, especially if there are tables etc., by sendin

They are limited on how much they can output and there is generally an inverse relationship between the amount of tokens you send vs quality after the first 20-30 thousand tokens.

I can help as can many others. Probably a good place to start though is with some of the more recent off the shelf solutions like trellis (I have no affiliation with them).

It is added cognitive load, but there is a lot of value in async tasks if you can trust the output or if the opportunity cost of validating is low. The challenge with something like this for research, in its current state, is you’ll need

And? Are you aware of some hydrogen storage technology that is becoming exponentially better year over year? Why are you anchoring to Hydrogen specifically, instead of a broader category of fuels where that argument would make more sense? T

I think it was more that Oracle was willing to take the political risk and had a lot of incentive to land a large, high visibility client that could help them build economies of scale and would come with a tier 1 JV partner. There is a lot

Sadly, I have been unable to secure one of those higher power free servers. I’ve been trying for a couple weeks now. That was literally the only reason I was willing to give Oracle a shot.

There is no way to level the distribution and storage problem. If there was, the time to do that was before the world had invested trillions in capex. If all of the subsidies and regulations incentivizing adoption of BEVs and hybrids were t

No it hasn’t, because it’s not viable. The first hydrogen car was built in the 1800s. There is nothing ‘early’ about this concept.

Automotive companies have been building PoCs like this for the past 30 years. They are not doing anything new here.

I agree there will still be a market for fuel for the foreseeable future but I believe there are better alternatives given the logistical challenges and other tradeoffs of hydrogen.

Hydrogen fuel is one of the ultimate tarpit ideas. The concept hasn’t really evolved much during the last 30 years. When I was in elementary school I was supposed to write a paper for science my science ‘class’ and was encouraged by my uncl

The LLMs have the ‘knowledge’ baked in, one of the things you will hear about are quantized models with lower precision (think 16-bit -> 4-bit) weights, which enables them to be run on greater variety of hardware and/or with greater
