Does that mean you'd be alright with me sitting outside your house taking photos of it and scanning for network signals coming from your house and running a software radio receiver to see what you've got going on inside? If not, w

I always wonder about Google. I know they produce Android but if they disappeared overnight, the world would carry on working, e.g everyone would switch to using another search engine. There would be less tracking (thanks Google Analytics)!

Yes that Java example is bad and terrible. I'm honestly amazed you can do Fruit[] basket = new Apple[]. That's terrible. You can't do that in C++. You can slice objects but you'll get a warning in any good compiler. I wo

Not sure what language you are using but CEF was good for Chrome under C#. Might be available under C++ too I think. There was an equivalent Gecko one for Firefox but I could never get it working correctly so deferred to CEF under Visual St

Yes, I have a 2012 and a 2016 MacBook Pro. The 2016 keyboard feels horrible and loud and the backlight on it is very bad. The 2012 is very good. The 2016 keyboard actually feels worse to me than my £200 laptop keyboard. The cheapo laptop ha

At a very very quick glance, the one-liner if statements without curly braces is killing me. Definition of the variables at the start of the functions (eg. int i) makes me think this is an old C developer. Needs more use of obtuse STL and d

But it's not a hint to the compiler. It's stating a fact to the compiler. It'll stop compilation. If I have a basket of fruit, all the items in that basket container are fruit. I can't put anything other than fruit in it

What's wrong with PC laptop keyboards? I have a £200 Linx14 laptop and the keyboard is identical to my Apple keyboard (the wireless white keyboard, external). Sure, the Mac one bounces a bit more but there's no difference. What is

Not definitive but I think they push APIs out in Google Play Services, which is a big blob of an APK. They did this a few Android versions ago so that they could bypass the lack of OS updates from manufacturers.

Were they aware that the process was convoluted, or did they simply not realise how obtuse they were making it? I have worked with people who "designed" terrible systems or couldn't see that a system would never work, yet sti

But history has proven this wrong. e.g, how did the entire German population wilfully engage in something that they now consider very wrong and ashamed about (WW2)?? (Quite a generalisation I know, but it's an example of a lot of peopl

I still can't see how it can be "mature" if it offers an iterable returnable type like in the article example yet doesn't indicate the type of the object it is returning! It has type hints for function parameters and ret
