This is interesting, specifically relative to what their definition of "growth stage" is. Does this mean a young company with five employees and some traction, or a large company that is close to PMF but needs cash to burn after

I don't really worry about it - yearly stuff on a google cal, other stuff I just condense onto one day a week, others one day a month. Over planning does the opposite of removing other things I need to keep in my head that don't

I assume non-startup / large company? Congrats on the role.

Will do, thanks for the tip. I'm somewhat tempted to start grifting Blind and just paying for recs.

Totally agree, fortunately I have a decent network to draw from. Unfortunately, I have to refresh leetcode to take up friends who have rec's to offer + most of those friends work for orgs that have completely frozen hiring pipelines.

Nope, it's pretty bad. Out of maybe 40 applications I've had 2 interviews, made it to round two for one of them, no offer. LinkedIn positions get 150+ applications within hours. For the first time I got nearly zero response from

If you don't have backup codes most companies have a manual flow to regain access. It's a pain, but to be honest I prefer it that way instead of leaving more vectors for social engineering to compromise my accounts.

Yeah, it's a bit of a drag. I'm four years in - but supposedly two job changes and one experimental year as a technical product manager at an early stage company seems to have nuked any modicum of hire-ability I had. If I spend m

I'd argue I've sort of fumbled my early tech career, hopefully I can recover in a non-linear fashion haha

Yep, it's not good. Been unemployed for about a month and the market is completely flooded. Either I'm not senior enough or I just suck - feelsbadman.

Nope, one dedicated device for 2FA. Dedicated email for each account.

Just store backup codes, using a 2FA app like authy which can be swapped via SMS defeats the entire point of using 2FA authenticators in lieu of SMS.

I feel like the easiest workaround is to a) not use an email with your name in it for any important login b) don't use those emails for more than one service c) use a separate SIM and device for 2FA (mint mobile etc) / banking app

Your site's feature of "cool comments from HN" is awesome! Automating this with some kind of LLM and selling it would be killer.

This happened to me after making a rash decision about a new apt in NYC. When I visited to view the apt it must've been at a time when street noise / people noise was at all time lows. About a month into living there my work prod

Why wouldn't uBlock Origin be targeted? Nobody is capable of auditing the entire codebase, paying off open source contributors flat out isn't hard and it's cheap.

Sure, but ad-blockers are also basically adware that scans through the entirety of all websites you visit. Very similar snooping to custom keyboards etc...

IMO it's a zoning problem. If you build residential it should be occupied, in theory if you build it that's the entire point. Mixed use / commercial is another story. If implemented correctly, this could also solve the iss

Yeah, as a native who recently returned because of remote work - it's insane that people think austin is worth what it costs to live here now. Even if austin was 50% cheaper than NYC its by no means 50% as interesting / provides

Regardless of politics, landlords who deliberately keep empty apartments off-market are a menace to society. If CA can't sue these people into infinity I don't know another state that can and no rent-control isn't the answer

Living with roommates past 27 is also kind of a deal breaker, along with paying $5k for a dilapidated 1br apt, enforced by the asinine dating market as well. By asinine I mean most women expecting male suitors to make over $400k, have thei

Not really, most of it comes from the Edwards aquifer and the CO river (which Lake Travis is a damned portion of). If we stopped selling so much water to rice farmers in east texas at a hilarious discount per acre foot we wouldn't have
