you're right! i was only looking at the mobile version. Sucks it's not there cause I typically don't have my pc around when infront of the TV and wanna search something.

It works, it is popular, sure. Claude's code may be barely old enough to have suffered through its true long-term maintainability problems. They probably also haven't had a lot of rotation/attrition in their staff.

I still can’t believe they don’t let you search videos within a channel for example. Or filter out music playlist from video ones. Or search within transcripts. It’s peak irony a company owned by the search overlord.

Is there an annotated picture mapping city “light dots” to city names?

Looks like they're now playing catchup. What's the pitch for using Cursor now a days?

Given enough eyeballs, all prohibited items are shallow.

To focus on other things. 100x of a small number could be less than 1x of a really large number from a product that they are more comfortable monetizing.

OpenAI is growing fast, pivoting is only to be expected. It would normally be something HN folk would typically value and encourage on startups. They have clearly been lacking focus and now finally they seem to be working towards a narrower

That's a good point. In some level I'd prefer the delay to happen on publication of the package itself. Do any of these scanners have cryptographic attestations or similar?

I don’t buy the “wait 7 days” being thrown around as a guard. Wouldn’t that just encourage the bad actors to delay the activation of their payloads a few days or even remotely activated on a switch?

Quotes should be around “journalism”. Let’s recognize those bait posts as what they are, which for sure is not journalism.

Writing down specs for technical projects is a transformational skill. I've had projects that seemed tedious or obvious in my head only to realize hidden complexity when trying to put their trivial-ness into written words. It really is

So both this and litellm went straight to PyPI without going to GitHub first. Is there any way to setup PyPI to only publish packages that come from a certain pattern of tag that exists in GH? Would such a measure help at all here?

Worth exploring safeguard for some: The automatic import can be suppressed using Python interpreter’s -S option. This would also disable site import so not viable generically for everyone without testing.

title is bit misleading. The package was directly compromised, not “by supply chain attack”. If you use the compromised package, your supply chain is compromised.

Either wrong or insufficient metric. They could be converting on products the user didn’t even begin with an intention to buy, which would be impossible to compare with their existing flows.

Isn't this the same company that fired most of their QA people few years back? Their commitments here seem to try to bring windows back to what it was when they still had their QA teams.

Not really, cause they will have lots of years to catch up to Only whatever is in vogue at the moment while adopting what surrounds them growing up. They won't have to unlearn and let go of their own pride or sunk cost into specializin

This wasn't a software acquisition at all. They were already able to use Astral's software just like anyone else. They wanted a good dev-tools team so that's what they bought. > the Astral team will join the Codex team at

py stuff aside for a sec, having this team working on Codex will be huge. I didn’t see a way they ever dethroned Claude until now. Happy as a Codex user, gloomy as a Python one.

I see, stationary receiver already has to deal with this and plane speed doesn’t add much to the equation cause satellites already go brr. Honestly that wasn’t intuitive in my head but makes a lot of sense, thanks!
149.
by 6thbit 7mo ago
Why does it work on the plane? are the constant handoffs between satellites not enough to break connections or cause extremely high packet loss for it to suck? is there a speed at which it would break?
