This article is completely overblown and full of made up nonsense. It's super easy to sell BTC and on a decent exchange like GDAX you can sell a million dollars via market order right now with less than $100 slippage. That's 0.5%.

This cannot happen. Bitcoin difficulty adjusts to match current mining power so it can't get out of control like that.

To give you some concrete data: Right now you can do on GDAX and sell $10 million in BTC with only about 5% slippage. If you spread it out you can sell $100 million in 6 months no problem.
