Same thing is happening in Australian hospitals, dentists, etc etc. All elective procedures are banned to keep the hospitals empty so suddenly a lot of income is gone. Everything is closing down.

The ventilator settings they're referring to are basically 2 variables: The number of breaths per minute, and the volume of air pumped for each breath. As the patient wakes up or goes to sleep etc you may need to adjust the ventilator

UV light might damage the mask itself. Radiation will work but that's not readily available like an autoclave or oven.

The parts that CAN be 3d printed will never need multiple back-and-forth cycles because 3d printed accuracy is terrible compared to the tolerances required for some complex injection moulded parts. In fact using the moulding method your sur

What's the death toll with the 'shut it all down' scenario? Not much better! It's already spreading uncontained everywhere. Shutting it all down will not stop all the deaths. Not even close.

China is just lying about their numbers. Not sure you can call Italy a success just yet, their 3 biggest increases in new cases were the last 3 days.

Problem is the current plan will not save 57 million people. Not even close. The mortality rate will still be 3.6% and we still expect 70% of the population to get infected. So if it was as simple as you say, then sure. Let's shut it a

This is how I see it too. We are not going to able to stop the virus, it's everywhere already. Shutting down the country may delay this a bit which is good for hospitals but terrible for everything else. The difference in death toll wo
