Sorry, I'm an adult, I don't need distracting bells and whistles, quite the opposite. Windows is a poor desktop IMO. There is too much horizontal waste planting the user into a short and wide letter box that is nothing more than a

Some people do try en enumerate all bad conditions, I have seen this with my own eyes. cp /bin/bash myehell, sudo meshell. I have never seen anyone try to enumerate the user part. I'll be waiting with popcorn.

Any of the IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, "serverless" (I'd slide that into the SaaS category) computing is just differing levels of out sourcing. Did you expect a managed service provider to be faster? Look after the stack yourself to av

Indeed. qmail describes this quite well and is portable for unix. The qmail-queue process does local deliveries, tcpserver runs against port 25 and invokes qmail-smtpd. Spending time to design software into small components pays for itself

I've been using this[1] for a while, not so much for the privacy, but to segregate internet things from my desktop user. 1: https://gitlab.com/edneville/newuserbrowser

It hasn't "vanished", it is just hiding in the ocean and the atmosphere. Same as the (vanished) water at the icecaps. As the Earth heats, the water evaporates. When that happens it adds to heat retention. Expect the water to

I'd be surprised if this doesn't already exist in some shape or form. Is this article just a coverup to lead people to believe it doesn't? The big tech companies are pretty expensive for a reason, and likely that half the add

RFC 822 is plaintext. That's a reference document. Don't see why HTML would be an argument for a reference document. In fact, tex is a good format for reference documents, it diff's well and can produce .ps/.pdf outputs

It's taken 30 years for someone to find a way to own the community around it. AOL sort of did this with their own DALnet software (AOL chatrooms). Amusingly, I couldn't see why slack stopped doing IRC, essentially that's what

IMHO stock OpenBSD is a better start. Concise and secure. Sending all traffic through a VPN is probably a bad idea, it is better IMO to put /some/ traffic through the VPN that you want separated. Private browse through VPN, prefer

In all honesty, personally I'd push all adjacent page content. HTML compresses very well, its minor compared to JS and page images. If the user proceeds to a pushed page, they'd just be waiting for the browser to do the render and

Nice idea for HTTP/1.x, however, isn't this what HTTP/2.0 [1] is meant to achieve by pushing components at the user? 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP/2_Server_Push

I see a lot of saves work like this: f = open( "the_file.new.$$" ); write( f, new_contents ); close( f ); rename( "the_file.new.$$", "the_file.new" ) If not implemented like this, then some

The Oracle Linux SAG is a reasonable place to start for documentation on it: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E52668_01/E54669/html/ol7-about-b... However, I often end up at the Arch Linux wiki, too: https:&#
