I fucking love the .emacs community. To keep pushing a project from the 70's and keep it current is quite a feat. Rebuilding from scratch is its own challenge, but to keep maintaing something at this scale and have such quotes be reali

When I first heard the dev of CRIU interviewed on FLOSS Weekly it blew my mind. From "Torvalds said I will not merge this crazy talk" into being able to halt active TCP connections and then horse whisper them to another container

I was recently bored and watched, after years of avoiding it, The Traitor (2008), with Don Cheadle as a terrorist ... or not so-terrorist. The movie was pretty bad (there's the real spoiler!). In that movie, which I just check the da

Some of us need tooling because we do not even know what to learn, or where to start. Again, this on me. I listened to Wiegley talk, and wanted to get involved. I looked into one weekend, but did not follow up. I need to stay committed.

The problem is, and I think in the case of Github he makes his rationale plain and clear: > I don’t think it would be right for Emacs to use github.com. I don’t even think it is right for ENSIME to use github, but I’m scared of moving in

So there ought to be a new generation of leadership in the Emacs maintainer community. Ironically, he is a Haskeller. I thought this was covered on HN before, because people were enthusiastic or concerned depending on how you look at it.
