I build robots with video streaming and use my phone to view the streams. I do not want my carrier messing with that. At all. It's mine. No touchy.

This. So much this. The whole "writing software only for the hardware elite" thing is really holding us back as a society. Sure they have money, so they might have some for you. I get that, but it's going to be pretty rotten

That's not a very good example since both of those are desktop applications providing virtualization and are expected to play nice with other desktop apps. You can virtualize in a web browser too, but that doesn't make it a good h
