A regular pi has a USB ethernet device, so really you will not lose any speed by using a usb dongle on any sbc.

Quite right. It's just like css. It may enhance a page, but pages should always fail back gracefully to basic content if a user cannot support it.

I wanted to come up with a nice snarky counterpoint, but figured I should go have a look first. The new landing page looks nice, and it no longer looks like a download.com clone packed with adware. Good job. Request: Stop making javascript

That doesn't apply here. Obscurity and obsolescence are different. It's a totally normal 486. Nothing weird about it.

My father told me a computer that I built for one of his customers running windows 95 almost 20 years ago is still running and being used daily. I don't think they would like windows 10. :p

POCs are a part of any good bug disclosure. It should be easy to test that one is no longer affected. Besides, trying older versions to undo problems is a very old and reliable technique.

Downgrading the component to before the introduction of the flaw would be safer by far.

Well, hopefully this becomes a nice driver for the homebrew computer scene. It's quite possible to assemble an internet capable (not web) computer from discrete chips on a breadboard now. Perhaps the users need some more choices.

"keeping your system patched is a prerequisite to remaining secure" Completely false. This will 100% NEVER be a sane security model. The one true way is to have verified secure software installed in the first place. That is not im

"DRM related content such ad HBO Go, Netflix, etc." None of those will be supported on a device for as long as they will be supported on a PC. Not that I'm a PC fan, but the general purpose operating system idea really shines

What's wrong with 8" floppy disks? They seem easy to manufacture (same as a VHS tape but cut differently), are pretty reliable if you keep them away from magnets (Which is common sense), and don't really have a shelf life pro

That's not true at all. If you had those opinions and wanted to keep them to yourself, how could that possibly be a bad thing? Shutting up about biases and intolerance is a fine way to allow clearer thoughts to be heard.

Any recent desktop linux will have virtualbox available. You could also run something like proxmox.

This bricked my sister in law's computer AND GUESS WHO GETS TO FIX IT. Microsoft messed up. Instead of losing a windows 7 user and gaining a windows 10 user, they lost a windows 7 user and gained a boots-to-blackscreen user.

"Hyperlinks still work." I observe that this is increasingly no longer true. Links no longer show you when you have visited them. Chains of 301s are common. Tracking links are now the norm. The link text almost never is where you
