Cursor seemingly went out of their way to not mention that they were actually running Kimi K2.5 and essentially by that omission made it seem like they had made their own model. They added a note to a blog post about using it at some point

LLM auto-complete is the most useful experience I've had with LLMs by quite a margin, and those were the early GitHub Copilot versions as well. In terms of models and cost it overperformed. It wasn't always good but it was more im

LLMs do not have trouble reading, it didn't make the mistake you made and it wouldn't. You missed a word, LLMs cannot miss words. It's not even remotely a human mistake.

One example of this would be that it's better to go over to your buddy in QA to talk about the feature you just pushed instead of jumping into Jira and activating your overwrought, weirdly scripted kanban flow that requires 3 asynchron

It's funny, we're now trained to see these things where they can't possibly ever have been (like in this case with the 11 year old blog). It's as if we all collectively forgot that whatever the LLMs are doing comes from

LLMs can really only mostly do trivial things still, they're always going to do very bad work outside of what your average web developer does day-to-day, and even those things aren't a slam dunk in many cases.

CTO is in many cases a rank more than a role, and given out accordingly. You should never take someone seriously based on their rank alone, much less a CTO.

Bad for business and probably unwise for the type of product people will pop their head in to check on, then stop paying and return much later to see whether it's still not much more than a parlor trick for them.

In all fairness, 30+ years of web development is exactly what would convince you that shipping 1+ MB of JS is fine, no? I'm not really kidding... Web development is where all of the worst practices in programming thrive and come from.
