The Digi-Key price is $4. The direct price when buying millions of units will be a fraction of the Digi-Key price.

I treat all security questions as if they are just an additional password. I use a password manager and store a random string for each required security question.

If 5950x was designed for 240W max power like 12900k, then it is likely that the optimizations AMD would have needed to implement in the silicon would have also provided some additional frequency headroom. It's all hypothetical though

I use Duplicati (duplicati.com) with Backblaze B2 as a backend for my backups. I get billed by GB-month and I get to define exactly what files to backup and how many versions to keep.

Must also take into account that many industrial processes are not easily restartable. Even if only shut down for 1 day or 1 week, it can take multiples of that length of time to ramp back up to 100% output rate. Complex factories do not sw

China could always shoot down some satellites if Starlink allowed access in China without approval. Yes, there are 1000's of Starlink satellites, but I doubt SpaceX wants to get into this kind of a fight.

There is a big fight over Avgas going on in San Jose over Reid Hillview airport. Yes, while total use of leaded fuel now makes up a tiny percentage, it is still measurably significant to the people who live in the flight path of a municipal

AMD and Intel have gotten much better at pushing the stock CPU frequencies up to the actual process limits as compared to 10 years ago. Also the various Turbo boost features now automatically push it even further towards the limits when the

Yes! SSNs are already not private given the number of hacks that have occured. Today, the real damage comes from the fact that people/businesses still believe they are private. Publish a list of all SSNs would eliminate the mispercepti

Really impressive and a plesently surprising feature from AMD. I imagine the real target market for this is Eypc server CPUs. Eventually they might be able to cut the L3 cache out of the CCD die completely and rely only on external SRAM die

Engineering resourses are limited. It takes significant effort to transfer and verify a design for a new process. Why pull off engineers working on the next gen products to retapeout an old product on an old node? I doubt it would have ROI.

You can get ECC UDIMMs from Supermicro. They are rebranded Micron DIMMs. ECC memory is not going to go as high of frequencies as you might be looking for. They will only go up to the officially validated speed of the CPUs. https:/
