Mostly, I just find it frustrating that you and the author are presuming that taking Bootstrap and, as self-proclaimed non-designers, "making it not look like Bootstrap" is a good thing. Good design isn't just a thing that happens when you

Perhaps I'm being nostalgic, but 24 Ways is sacred to me. It's a yearly list featuring the best-of-the-best sharing insight in to their specific areas of expertise. Christian Heilmann on localStorage ( http://24ways.org/2010/html5-local-st

"I am a programmer. I am not a designer." Then perhaps you shouldn't be giving design advice. "I am a designer. I am not a programmer. Here's how to build a half-decent web application in half an hour. First, download PHP..." All due resp

I think everyone deserves the very best. Why don't you think so? And how did 20-somethings come up? Personally, I'd rather pay $80 for a hoodie that lasts 10 years than $8 for 1 hoodie a year. Less waste, less exploitative labor, shorter sh

Don't get too hyped by "tenfoot": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10-foot_user_interface Just a clever reference to the UI paradigm.

Oh wow! I stand corrected, very useful to know. Looks like these folks are even smarter than I thought. Still hope they tune up the design, though. Even beyond aesthetics, the usability leaves a lot to be desired.

Love this idea, but as I understand it, their iOS app will be rejected unless they go through the MFi Program licensing process. Apple doesn't allow open access to the Bluetooth stack for anything besides audio hardware. Hope they have some

Your Gmail account is not necessary to retrieve your credit card, phone, and Social Security numbers. And finding someone's home address is trivial, usually for free.

Personally, I think the "Padgram" font is nice. Didn't work well for "Instapin" - made the "I" look funky - but looks suitable for Padgram. I'd tighten up the space between the "P" and "a", and between the "d" and "g", but that's just my ow

It's definitely possible to build a Facebook-like app with HTML5 that's fast. I won't assume why they couldn't - my instinct is that the app is significantly more complicated than it appears - but I am a bit confused by some of their conc

Oh, absolutely. Between Vimeo, Svpply, DIY, and his Cabin Porn blog (SFW, you should check it out if you haven't yet), he seems to have impeccable taste for things the internet could use. Huge props to him for everything.

Sigh. They even had a business model, too. Disappointed. Looking forward to Svpply either (a) being slowly destroyed, or (b) shut down all together so the team can work exclusively on eBay's awful site. Congrats in advance to the team on ca

"Yeah, but, merchant services are hard!" Bullshit. If you're going to process payments, you have to solve hard problems like fraud prevention, and PayPal is doing a dreadful job solving them. Freezing accounts isn't the problem; the problem

Came to post this. The only redeemable value in 4chan, in my opinion, is that the fact that posts aren't archived makes for a very interesting social experiment. An API firehose pretty much puts an end to that.
