How do you think it would go learning "backwards" from Elixir (which I'm currently learning w/ Phoenix for another purpose)? I've glimpsed through Reason/Bucklescript but never spent real time in them.

I’ve noticed this in the comments under music more than elsewhere. Anything politics is still awful. Music is nice and largely even positive—if repetitive (“anyone here listening to [90s band] in 2020??”)

My phone hasn’t changed in function. I’m not sure what you’re getting at. They don’t contractually forbid me from anything I haven’t agreed with by buying this device. I bought an iPhone specifically because it is locked down and simple.

A discussion about rates/App Store contracts seems like a different discussion—and one I'm all for. But I personally would not like having the system I bought as a phone suddenly change in function allowing side-loaded software. (

I didn't think this current debate was caused by Apple changing policies, but to actually force Apple to change policies.

Oh weird. I'll have to check on that. I was at 0-5% GPU usage maximized on an RTX2060 but CPU was just cranked. I tried minimizing it hoping it was just some startup process that caused an initial CPU burst, but when it didn't cal

One of the reasons I bought an iPhone is because there are no vectors for arbitrary software installation.

Hm. There's no other context in which it ramps up that high, no matter what I've thrown at it. And unfortunately, it's a new laptop so I'm hesitant to crack it open for want of invalidating the warranty just yet.

Speaking only to JS is there any reason to write it any other way outside of being clever or as a lambda for singular use? I definitely prefer this version. (Assuming any necessary runtime checks are included for a given project)

Oh that's too funny. On a side note: I signed up for the discounted $1 trial month of Xbox Game Pass just to try this game out. The download and installation process was ridiculously slow and causing my CPU to ramp up to 80-100° even w

It's weird on the surface, but it's because our entire electrical utility has roots in hydroelectric power. Adam Beck was one of the people chiefly responsible for the creation of a public electrical utility in Ontario. I like one

This is the approach I'd recommend, too. It's a far lower barrier of entry than the countless tomes people are recommending, too. Go down the rabbit hole.

Fun fact: Django was a big influence on Willie Nelson who is, of course, very well known in the US. It might not be overly obvious because of the genre disparities but listen to Willie's guitar phrasing.
