So Firefox 3.6 scores 1.5, Firefox 7.01 scores 2, Chrome Win (14.0.835) scores 2.5, while IE 8 gets a 3? Safari for Windows isn't even recognized.

I lived most of my life estranged from my father due to issues I won't get into here. When I was 32 though we finally got to know each other more as adult friends than as father/son. As much as I never saw any reason to get to know him be

It was obvious he knew the end was near. He would never have stepped out of running Apple until he new for sure he wouldn't be around much longer. The moment he resigned as CEO I knew the doctors had told him it was only a matter of time

Those three round contacts on the side have me intrigued. Some form of dock connector? I have a Nexus One and I still love it; I was hoping perhaps HTC would build the next Nexus. I just couldn't go for the Nexus S due to it lacking an SD

Additional summary. "Not everyone wants automatic updates, so you'll still be able to do it the old way if you choose." This is what I like about Mozilla, choice. Thank you to the devs that keep user choice in mind.

I collect antique "technology" and have a couple of these along with Comptometers, a Golden Gem, and an Odhner. It really is amazing when you look at how these things work. I also used to collect late 1800's typewriters but they were takin

There was a discussion about this here on HN when they announced this naming change. At the time it didn't make sense to me and it really still doesn't. The Nightly, Alpha, Beta, RC standard is pretty ubiquitous and I think it's just conf

Agreed.. I restart FF maybe once a week and most of the time it's sitting open with 10-15 tabs. If you're having stability issues with FF it's a plugin IMO.

Succinctness is definitely not the sole measure of programming language's power. If it was then APL would have become mainstream. In that case it actually worked against adoption of the language even though it was very capable otherwise.

Oh the memories. I ran a Telegard BBS back in 1989-91 called "Circle of One". I still have it backed up though I would probably have to find some old hardware to run it on. It ran on a 20Mhz 286 at the time with 2 Meg RAM and a couple of
