Have you tried Joplin? It's open source. I liked it very much but ultimately ended up using a folder of markdown files and using vscode to edit them. It works great. The only issue is that long hyperlinks become unreadable.

This just doesn't make sense to me. The employer can hire two instead of one while getting the same performance. Supposing we're not talking about 8+ hours timezone difference, it's much more valuable than just having someone

These explain why Python is the defacto for AI/ML which is interesting but I still totally agree with the idea of Python's simplicity making it just a better choice to get things done. I had a journey from Scala, a compile-time ty

About 2 decades of software development and today I would choose the same stack. I've coded in PHP, C#, Java, Scala (Play framework), Rails, NodeJS, a bit Go. Django, DRF, and something like HTMX will be my default choice today, unless

Had a similar but simpler experience with Telegram's Lumberjack game [1]. Wrote a small Python script that scans a few pixels of screen and sends arrow key signals when sees a branch. The game was gradually speeding up to the point tha

Wow lot of complains here. I've had a good experience interviewing with Amazon few months ago. Recuiter was supper supportive and following up constantly. The interview rounds were also relatively nice. The only thing was to prep for a

Actually it was the best option I had on Linux for O365 corporate email client. They added OAuth support probably during the past 2 years and they added some important features to the calendar notification about a year ago. The calendar has

This topic made me think that you'll eventually have to support all FP principles in a strongly type safe language like Rust which reminds me of Scala FP community. I'm not sure if it ended up being a good thing for Scala long-ter

Long term I don’t think he would make less money. Though even if he does he'll enjoy what he does and that's all that matters.

Oh yeah I have a vague memory of B000. I was more interested in mode 13 (256 colors 360x200). I think it was starting from A000. I'm proud that I found that address by trial and error. I was able to put pixels on screen using `int 10h`

So nostalgic. All the work is done by 21h interrupt though. 10h is faster. And the fastest is to put characters in 0xB800 memory address. How do I remember that number without looking it up?

Maybe what I have in mind as the env setup is different but 1) lower envs might not experience the load or edge cases as prod 2) lower envs are supposed to be as similar as possible to prod. Is it a good idea to test things with Python 3.11

To me the whole point of using open source tech is the freedom. I want to have options, hardware or software. When Apple tries hard to remove itself from that list I probably won't fight to keep it there. I just cross it out of my list

Just a side note: I guess it still can be suspicious as AWS is banned for Iranian. Irainians usually use other VPS providers.

I got a similar book on C++ and tried to return it to get a refund as soon as found there's no exiting sample code but OO stuff. I was lucky that the shop didn't get the book back so I had to read it. I think it upgraded me.

I suppose it's all because of the topic or the content itself. They try to use any technique to keep the view and to make it longer. They sometimes build miniseries from something that could be an hour max.

I stopped using Arch when I went to a meeting after upgrading the night before and realizing my audio is not working during the call. You don't have time to RTFM then.
