There is another variable, the rate of change. When a Venetian Doge was 80 years old, the world was.. more or less the same as when he was 20. Contrast that to now, where an 80 year old in his twenties likely did not even have colour TV.

That is the fallacy of relative privation. The fact that most of what we do to animals is terrifying should be the motivating factor to NOT do more of it, such as the atrocity described above.

Conflict with allies is not a good thing for anyone, apart from nationalism. The dictator now makes more money, so we just lost our cheap gas source, and we buy more expensive oil from others.

It sounds like you think you are saving the world one purchase at a time. Sure thing haha. And with the 5 people that read your rants, it is enough for a megacorp with millions of users to go bankrupt. Sure. Keep saving the world for us, th

No, we are not animals. But life has become so increasingly complex that is infeasible for the average person to be that invested in everything in order to have an educated opinion. I do NOT want to have to research the business model of co

I disagree completely. You cannot expect every consumer to be fully educated and aware of the consequences of their purchasing power. This is the role of legislation, educated experts creating policies so that you don't have to do busi

I agree that it is odd, but it is unfortunately a natural consequence of the dilution of the term woman to include people in their 50s that up until yesterday were men. We need a new term, kind of like how Thailand is handling the situation

It is a colony of the west. The UK started it, a lot of Russians took over, and it is an island of Europeans in the middle east, displacing peoples that have been living there for thousands of years. Which is made even more clear by the col

Two drones. One to blast the door open, the next goes through. Still more cost effective than a humanoid robot, even in the presence of hundreds of doors.

It is mind boggling how statements like that are possible in the US. I guess it is much better than the situation before that, where you paid $5000+ and they also gave you an opioid addiction.
