Yeah. Just like in the US they don't show taxes (which vary!) on products in retail shops. It's obnoxious, and I don't understand how this is legal, even in the US.

I don't get it either. I'm a huge music lover, I have other 4000 albums, but I am an active listener only. I only listen to music when I listen to music, not while doing something else. In a car, music is annoying, not to mention

Apple makes a 12'' iPad with a 4:3 display. Apple also makes a ton of 16:10 laptops while nobody else does.

I disagree by saying that I don't think you really get the main benefit of Vagrant if you want to use it with other people's boxes. Also, since the rise of virtio (thank goodness), you can easily make boxes that work on VB/VM

Not really, the light flux is not really related to the physical aperture (diameter of the lens), but rather to the f-number of the lens (what photographers usually call "aperture" is in fact the f-number, focal length divided by

Correct. The flux for the sun on the sensor/film/whatever is: Φ/4α² * 1/A² Where Φ is the sun flux at the surface of the earth, and α is the angular diameter of the sun. A is the f-number of the lens, the only v

Surface damage mostly depends on the power density, not on total power, so it depends mostly on the aperture, not on the focal length. This makes longer focal lengths safer to point at the sun because they are slower lenses. They are also s

Focal length has nothing to do with it, in fact, longer focal lengths are generally safer because lenses are slower. Aperture is what matters, lenses gather much more light than our bare eyes.

Amazon buys a significant fraction of the chips produced by Intel. I don't know how many security-sensitive chips the US government needs, but I'd be willing to bet it's a drop in the ocean.

What, specifically, about register windows and delay slots makes them unsuitable for today's needs? PS: read my profile description.

No, the new ME chip is an x86 running Minix. It's in the article, did you read it?

All massless particles like photons and gravitons travel at the same speed, the speed of light. Yes, gravitational waves travel at the speed of light, and yes, of course they are affected by doppler shift.

Small planes are not used on long routes though, and similarly, large planes are seldom used for short routes. So they could disable recling seats on short flights with no problem.
