Apart from the HW requirements the others mentioned, Apple Intelligence is only available in the US (or at least it's not available in the EU). So make sure you're in the US.

The system will work just fine. You seem to be under the impression that the purpose of the system is to prevent teenagers from accessing some websites. That is not the purpose of the system, that's just the pretext for implementing it

The PATH is irrelevant, this is about how the kernel parses the shebang. It starts exactly /usr/bin/env with two arguments, not some other env binary you might have in your PATH.

A thousand pages is something reviewable by hand (albeit slowly) and easily amendable to grep. Anything that trivially fits in computer memory doesn't benefit from approximate search methods. I stand by what I said.

I must say that it works reasonably well even with imagined references and URLs because it usually gets the author right, or there is a similar paper with a reasonably close title. I'd say around 50% of the time I get a real reference,

If I had the stuff to feed into the LLM context, I wouldn't need the LLM to find the stuff for me because I would already have it.

My Macbook Pro lasts about two days on battery while doing work (in clamshell mode, with the screen off). My Thinkpad drains its battery in less time than that in sleep . The removal of S3 is a travesty.

Same. I really don't care about any of this stuff. I am not a luddite by any means, I constantly keep trying out LLMs in order to see if I am missing anything. I am trying to get some utility from them, but I just can't. "B

Compositionality is paramount and category theory guarantees compositionality, but the author's criteria for what entails a good configuration language are woefully naïve. Configuration is not about describing data, it's about con

Not really, no. The microbial culture composition is strongly dependent on temperature. Yeast prefers high temperature while bacteria in general prefers a lower temperature. Each specific thing you ferment has an optimal fermentation temper

The problem with kimchi is that it is spicy. I won't understand why you'd ruin a perfectly good sauerkraut by making it spicy. If you make your own sauerkraut, or anything else fermented really, the flavour is much more complex an

Thanks, that is interesting to know. I don't like kimchi (it's just worse sauerkraut) but I ferment other things and I always wanted a fridge just for that. I didn't know these things existed.

That makes it warmer than regular fridges, while wikipedia claims the opposite.

Article claims this fridge is colder than a regular one "to facilitate fermentation", but this doesn't make any sense. Fermentation is completely stopped in a regular fridge, you need higher temperature for fermentation. Also
