If I need something, I'll ask for it. When I visit the US there is nothing more annoying to me than waiters interrupting my meal.

A few years back, here in Vienna bars didn't turn on TVs for a whole year (there was a notice on the TVs about how they can't turn them on for some reason, and to complain to $WHOEVER, not sure of the details). It was magnificent.

I only use my laptop when I am traveling. At home, I have no need for it. I am not traveling with speakers. I doubt I am alone.

That's my point, Linux "won" without needing any presence on the desktop side. Any suggestion about what should happen with Linux and/or Linux users that ignores this fundamental fact is utterly hopeless.

You got it backwards, Go used to do raw system calls on macOS, and binaries were occasionally broken by kernel updates. Now Go uses libc on macOS, and binaries are forward compatible with future macOS versions just like any other C/C++

In Plan 9 all the state is in the kernel, so it doesn't have this problem. Inferno doesn't have system calls.

Not true. On Solaris (and Windows), and more recently in macOS as well we link with libc (or equivalent), and we can still cross compile from any system to these systems. It's not a free lunch of course, doing raw system calls would be

Funny, when it comes to programming languages like C, operator errors are very much blamed on the quality of the language.

The MB uses a 5W CPU, the Air uses a 7W CPU, still miles behind the performance of real laptop CPUs like those found in the Pro line. If you need to decide between MB and MB Air, performance should't enter into it, it's almost the

Gimp having multiple windows is its best feature. Luckily, Photoshop on macOS (but not Windows) also has multiple windows mode (though it's emulated, they aren't really operating system windows, so not as nice as Gimp).
