It does actually play into performance, too. The new multiprocess architecture requires that extensions get updated to be compatible with it. It is possible to achieve that in the old extension API, but every single extension author would h

It is up to Google to do that. And it's up to the people to complain, strike and whatnot about it and to leave the platform, if the problem becomes unbearable. This is a perfectly normal dynamic that exists any time anyone is being pai

Adverts by definition try to sell you things that are not relevant to your needs. They'd be pretty bad adverts, if they tried to sell you things that you do need and therefore will buy anyways.

In case you're not aware, on Android there's also F-Droid, an app store with only open-source apps, maintained by a non-profit organization. At least when I'm looking for open-source apps on Android, that's where I start

As a browser vendor, yes, you have to try to not piss off advertisers, because if website owners don't make money off of your browser, they're not going to test against it much, but why would you list that reason specifically for

Yeah, I often wonder how what Google is doing can really be so much better that it justifies leaking billions of users' information all over the place and the massive infrastructure costs that they must have.

I didn't even realize until now that Google has this and DuckDuckGo doesn't. So, that's a No for me, I guess. Others here are saying that they need this for researching programming-related things. I just add the version numbe

Don't think there's recordings of CampJS for this year, but on the schedule [1] there's a talk about it listed by Marcos Caceres. You could probably ask the guy on Twitter (@marcosc). [1] http://viii.campjs.com

Generally speaking, Container Tabs try to make you look towards the internet like several users while on your end it behaves like a single-user experience. So, things like history, bookmarks and add-ons are not separated by Container Tabs.
