Why wouldn’t it matter if we’ve planted trees elsewhere? Nobody is suggesting we’ve magically fixed every environmental issue, but wouldn’t you rather see trends like total number of trees (or number of rivers catching on fire, as you p

No not all of them do this. Yes, Instagram does, as per the chart in the article. The difference is Tiktok forces you to use their in app web view, and does not allow you to use your default browser, where they would not be able to inject t

You’re not talking crazy pills, but the article is about CSS. That’s like saying, “I don’t understand why we have websites at all.” A very small subset of people know how to use a CLI. We’re talking about building visual interfaces for comm

Great article! One of the first I’ve ever seen that breaks down the complexities of the bee problem in a thoughtful, reasonable way. The slew of articles we’ve seen is the last 5-10 years about the ‘Bee Apocalypse’ were largely either highl

It’s not really a joke, but it is a little funny. It’s just a really fancy ‘paper’ wallet. I actually love the concept. I used to make paper wallets for myself and friends, and this is basically the best version I’ve ever seen

That video clearly shows the user typing using the number pad. So no worries there. I agree, if that were not possible, that would be a little bit silly. This is a perfect example of why I never trust reviews. People are either just really

Okay, but the top comment as I’m writing this is someone saying they have already been using the standard service, in a mobile fashion, mounted to the top of their van. So my question to Starlink would be, what’s the difference? If I want

Great article, I think it nicely articulates something any of us music/ live music fans have always intuitively known. It’s one of the coolest things about music, and the clearest sign you found a song that really resonates with you. T

Yeah that’s great point. That’s probably a very likely reason. It’s a good way to preempt any customers possibly getting angry at the employees or the business. Defer the blame to a tier above your control. I wonder if there is a term for t

No, I’ve used my Visa cards multiple times today. Within the last few hours. Statements like that aren’t uncommon, when a store’s system goes down. I have no idea why they feel the need to exaggerate, or maybe they are just passing on here-

As far as the law and the courts are concerned, I think autopilot part of the story here is irrelevant. As drivers we are responsible for whatever happens when we are behind the wheel. Full stop. It’s pretty obvious they weren’t focused on

I’ve been a big fan of this site since it was introduced to me when I first learned to code. But to your point, I can’t really imagine a scenario where it would become an ‘integral’ part of an project. For use in development & testing,

Good point. 3D film wasn’t new by any means. I remember doing some of those 3D movies (or actually ’4D’ movie ‘rides’) at Disneyworld, as late as the early 2000’s that we’re still using the older ‘red/ blue’ lenses. Avatar however, too

I don’t disagree. I’m sure I’m not the first one to make the comparison, but the plot line was almost like a modern rip-off of ‘FernGully’. Nothing crazy. But the 3D visuals were so mesmerizing I didn’t care haha. Another comment compares i
