I have been serving myself a custom root.zone for almost 20 years now. I use tinydns for this which I think has always been the ideal choice for personal use. The author from the beginning recommended users not to use third party DNS and t

In the article there is an example of a blog post that is missing on blog.facebook.com but can be found on web.archive.org. I could be wrong but I think changes to robots.txt can make pages "disappear" from Internet Archive, too.

That is true. There are some I never edit as long as they continue to work. Others I am continuously editing on a regular basis. Others are really "one-offs" that I keep just in case. If I need them again in the future, I migh

The question the media should be asking Facebook is why can't they just stop tracking those users? Why must they fight a government trying to protect its citizens? Whose side is Facebook on? The side of advertisers? It cannot be the

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. Even give us a static binary. Alas, I am getting "Illegal instruction (core dumped)". Will have to try another kernel.

I did not mean to imply otherwise. The phoning home was introduced with the 64bit trial. If I recall correctly, the 32bit trial used to time out after some number of hours after it was launched. This prevented, e.g., running it continuous

You could have made a note of what the variable names stood for and put it at the top or end of each source file, in a separate file or even on a piece of paper. There is nothing inherently disadvantagous to using abbreviations as long as y

The install for Anaconda is over 500MB. If it is anything like k, the "shakti" binary is probably small, maybe under 260KB. Is there a way to download just the shakti binary? What are the restrictions on the trial version of shakt

From all I have read about the history of software author Richard Stallman, I would classify him as an end-user. By all accounts, he was not entirely satisfied with what commercial software was offering.

That is a fair point. How would you counter the following? When a call is made or a text is sent to a mobile number is is not addressed to anyone in particular. It is addressed to the number only. Mobile phone "MFA" only proves

The emergence of "music industry" has probably resulted in higher quantity of music but also more lower quality music. Touring is not easy work. It stands to reason that "love of doing" is still a primary motivation.
