There is a bit of irony in this comment since many of the original Skype engineers are now seniors managers at Google still working on communication (they left MS a long time ago). Google has many issues but I don't think technical com

Not an expert in this space. Aren't tokens transformed with position dependent information in most models? I believe llama applies a rotation to the vector based on the position in the input.

I've been a pretty heavy HN user since highschool and it just felt like such a cool place to be. There were always so many deep interesting topics from people with all sorts of interesting backgrounds. Theres been a shift for a while b

I literally cannot understand why this being downvoted. Why should Canada be compelled to use a private US based platform owned by a person who is advocating for Canada to no longer exist.

Jokes on them, they've already placed big tarrifs on us. I guess we are free to tax Big Tech companies then? Edit: legitimate question, is this too snarky for HN?

I think the vast majority of them were early stage prototypes either done by companies "labs" with no attention span or students. Either way I don't think it cost people a lot to move on, most likely to AI projects

I think you may have fallen into the trap thinkint that this is a rational action with a clear goal. I mentioned in the previous post that Canada is willing to spend extra resources to avoid a trade war. That means nothing to trump and this

What about Canada? We have even higher tarrifs than China and in the last 100 years are the USA's closest ally.

Sorry to say but that's already been walked back on after Canada committed $1 billion dollars for extra northern border security and it made no difference in the tariffs discussions. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politic

As a thought excersize I've been going through your comments @dang to see what the state of moderation currently looks like. From what I can tell it is a very difficult job right now and I do not envy that. I read through this last rep

Sometimes I really wonder what reality people live in... Elon musk quite literally bans topics and terms that he doesn't like on a whim. There's a rather lengthy account of all it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

Playing tic tac toe could be such a basic topic that there is relatively little information on the internet about how to "always" win. On the other hand writing a piece of code to solve Tic Tac Toe sounds like it could be a relati

I don't know why people are even thinking that deeply about it. Trump put tarrifs on raw materials... There is no way to recoup the cost there. This is just the largest single tax increase in US history.

Very confused by this, is there something currently happening in China that warrants massive layoffs in tech? As the article mentioned the game is just launching its Season 2 and is still receiving updates and new characters.

Here's the fun part if you are not wealthy. You would pay both anyways. It's a rigged game, if anything they would use tariffs to cut the progressive rate not the base tax rate anyways.

From the engines you mentioned (Godot,Unreal,Unity) the game engine itself offers the full SDK suite you need to develop games and it they are tightly integrated with the engine. I'm most familiar with Unity so I'll speak on that.
