This was a key feature of the bet. It's within the first 100 gravitational wave detections. They're betting against an unknown distribution. Neither side was saying that they wouldn't be found.

> Why are results displayed above the code cell instead of below it (as in Jupyter/IPython)? Was a bit confusing at first. I also strongly agreed with this at first, but after working with it some more I've found it compelling.

You just update the `a=1` cell, changing it to `a=2`. That's the whole point. Every other cell that depends upon `a` will then automatically update.

It completely fixes a huge number of the gripes in the JupyterCon talk I don't like notebooks by Joel Grus. The primary complaint there is that notebooks have a disconnect between the state of the program and the display of the cells

To be quite frank, repeated hypothesis tests on ad-hoc groupings is _terrible_ science.

M-b and M-f work for me in slack with my custom defaultkeybinding.dict. It only requires the app to use OS-native text inputs.

I've gone further to support meta-keybindings for whole-word movement. Control-b goes back one character, option-b goes back a whole word. It's really easy to add and customize: http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~jrus&#

The clean separation between command-keys (for app-behavior) and control-keys (for emacs-like text navigation) is far and away my favorite aspect of using MacOS. I know it sounds crazy, but I navigate through text far more frequently than

Hunh? January 1, 1970 + 9.007199254740992e15 nanoseconds gets you all the way to... tax day[1]. Microseconds gets you to the year 2255; milliseconds to heat death. 1. https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=January+1%2C+

I encourage you to read https://julialang.org/legal/data This is very minimal data that gets sent along with requests that you’re already making to a (user-selectable) package server.
