I agree, no one should ever bother writing a new browser again, too risky. We should just use chrome forever

what a pathetic language. modern languages have a fully generic max function, thats also type safe https://godocs.io/builtin#max

If you need a container, your stack (dotnet/java) sucks. That's why Amazon deprecated the Go container, cause it's just not needed

> containerized .Net and Java Gross. If that's the alternative I would rather stick with mainframes. People forget that it's perfectly fine and even better to just run code directly in many cases.

If that's the case, why are they vendored here?

Yeah exactly, with Go this should literally just be the type definition and that's it. You can do XML marshal, byte reader and http request with the standard library

> Except for SDL2, all libraries are bundled here (see the libs/ directory). https://github.com/phoboslab/high_impact#libraries-used yep. exactly why I dont use C anymore. the package management story is so bad

SSR is when the server creates HTML, not JSON. nextjs is very obviously client side rendering

> nextjs FYI nextjs is notoriously user hostile and one of the worst pieces of client side code I've ever seen, second only to Widevine. Who dumps 2mb of JSON directly into the HTML?

YouTube already uses Widevine for movies. they will never use it for regular videos, because it will kill their website. widevine is a resource killer, for both client and server.

Yeah I was about to say, it's literally structural typing https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Structural_type_system

you dont have a computation in your code.

unpopular opinion, I think constexpr and similar are anti patterns. if you want to memoize values, run a separate script to do that. a computation is not and cannot be constant, this is just some sugar so that people can pretend it is.

I am banned from stack overflow for 100 years. I have over 100k rep on the site. I was banned because of a rollback war on one of my own posts. It's probably for the best, the site is pretty much dog shit these days, from the cruel mod

Or when you encounter (another) corner case that requires a top down rewrite of your code. If you start to question your sanity or the meaning of life, you're probably on the right track.

no such thing as a min instruction

▲
by

> #define min(x, y) ((x) < (y) ? (x) : (y)) cursed code. I checked and every single invocation is just `int`, so why do this? you can just write a function: func min(x, y int) int { if x < y { return x } return

I think the one liner was supposed to show how short and simple programming can be, but I think it ultimately has the opposite effect. It's basically a showcase of terrible programming idioms that you should never use.
