Even on Southwest, which gives you two free checked bags, I see a lot of other passengers flying with small carry-on suitcases. I suppose they're worried about speed or loss/damage of their luggage, but I don't really know.

Why does this blog post have a recaptcha? In addition, I just finished reading the Rust book last night, and I don't believe this is what interior mutability is (at least as used in Rust).

I watched the whole video series in the last two weeks. I quite enjoyed it. It suffered from my classes in that Eater actually deals with the minutiae of working with real electricity — debouncing, clock edge detection, and so forth — becau

As I scrolled through this, using my mouse to click the heart on a number of the tweets, I really understood the point he makes about actions that don't need to use a mouse. When I program in vim and run things on the command line, I d

I did keep reading the article, as I say in my edit. I differ from you in my interpretation of this facet of the essay. To me, it reads as internal contradiction — the author says that it is impossible to represent 1/120 in memory and

The issues of "repeating decimal" and exact representation as a floating point number are orthogonal. Because the mantissa in a floating point number (which is fixed width) is in base 2, only fractions with denominators that are p

This sounds like a push to allow a third-party App Store on the iPhone, or at least to allow iPhone users to install binaries not directly approved by Apple. That's not the same thing as dismantling Apple.

I'm interested in why you think only one menu bar is a bad thing. In my experience it makes it easy to use. On Windows, a menu bar is maybe 20-50 pixels high, and you have to hit that small target to use the menu bar. On Mac, because t
