Niri¹ is awesome. It took quite a bit of customization when I originally installed it, however, quite a few things have improved since then. I believe that niri's out-of-the-box experience is reasonably good with the latest version. Wi

How exactly would non-citizens, who do not have social security numbers or other valid identifying documents, receive medicaid? It's difficult enough for qualified people to get it. It would seem fairly difficult to pass the registrat

This is one of the most concerning attacks on personal freedom I've seen recently and that's really saying something since we live in a rapidly evolving oppressive Orwellian dystopia.

I still think that this was a shady clinic. Why would they have people on the program for many years and give them ridiculous doses instead of weaning them off of the program?

There are two really two major concerning issues with Palantir: 1. They provide tech that is used to select targets for drone strikes and apparently also for targeting violent attacks on US civilians. I don't know too much about how t

This is the most compelling reason (unless you really need the range of fiber) - 10GbE can be really power hungry. Each 10G switch port that is in use adds something like 1-5 watts to the power budget. 1 watt is reasonable but most switch h

I really didn't mean to imply that one TSMC plant in AZ could replace Taiwan, nor that we should only care about semiconductor wafer output or worse to discount the desires of the Taiwanese people. Presumably, at least some large fract

For film scanning (which I do only very rarely) I've resorted to just using my digital camera with a light box to illuminate the film and a nice macro lens to focus on the frame.

It's possible my friend wasn't telling me the whole story or just misunderstood the program. I don't think he was actually trying to stay addicted though because after a few weeks on methadone (with increasing doses and docto

Not that I'm aware of, it seemed rather arbitrary. The people who had been going to that clinic for a while all had massive doses, almost to a ridiculous degree. My perception was that it was to keep them hopelessly addicted. I was onl

My complaint was about the forced increasing of dosage. They literally would not allow the patient to wean off of it. So yes, it might be an improvement over the shit on the street but it's diabolical that they force patients to conti

Not all (probably not even most) destitute people become opiate addicts. People become destitute because they are opiate addicts, it's not the other way around.

I think that many methadone clinics are operating very unethically, to the point I would call it fraudulent. Certainly it's cruel to the patients. They essentially set up the patient to be a lifetime methadone addict. This may be an im
