Wikimedia is much much less shady than Mozilla in a bunch of ways. Some people might take issue with the way they spend their money, or the tactics they use to raise money, but I don't think I would consider them shady. Full disclosur

WikiFunctions, I believe, has a larger purpose in the context of Wikimedia wikis, and that is they are building a library of functions that can be called directly from wikitext and the code will be evaluated automatically when the page is r

If only the wikimedia foundation would fork firefox, then the open web might have a chance. Wikimedia is honestly the only organization with the right ideology, the right business model, and enough money to do something like this sustainabl

It might be time to abandon that half of the web. Radical software freedom ideology is looking less radical and more rational by the day.

TL;DR: PEP8 can go to hell. I can only agree with this if the lint rules are paired with 100% automatic reformatting, and not simply a lint rule that rejects the changes. It's a huge waste of time to force the author to go back and man

Very good points. Letting the coders talk to the users is unfortunately rare and probably undesirable for a lot of larger organizations.

It's easier than ever to build a PC yourself. I built my first PC around 1988 and today's PCs are a dream in comparison. One of the primary areas of advancement is PC cases - they are so well engineered now that just a few screws

I'm with you on this. I've even been told that my lack of a good answer to this question was the only negative mark on one of the interviews for a job that I eventually was hired for. My honest answer is that I don't generall

The way tools like GitHub or Phabricator do code review annotations is pretty good. My ideal annotation system would just be git with annotations based on a selected range of words from the source document, stored in a standardized format w

BTW this is probably an outdated law from the time when vehicles odometers "rolled over" to zero after 99,999 miles.
