A couple of hundred years is really optimistic. People thinking we have that much time is part of the problem. Without some miraculous changes, humans will be extinct in 30 years.

At this point it seems pretty likely that several of these cable cuts are intentional. Sometimes it's ok to entertain conspiracy theories, a significant number of theorized incidents do turn out to be actual conspiracies.

There is strong incentive for youtube creators to create this kind of "clickbait" content (and especially clickbait titles and thumbnails) which perpetuates that situation regardless of whether the algorithm explicitly rewards it.

This is actually a really nice interface for working with generative AI. This seems like it could be really powerful and actually useful.

That does happen occasionally where I live, last night for example. But it's only a single digit number of days out of a year. The rest of the time air quality is very good.

It's called use it or lose it. If you don't spend 100% of the budget then it'll get permanently reduced in the next round and you'll have to fight extremely hard to get that budget back later if it turns out you need it

This is pretty crazy. A shell injection via a PR with a malicious branch name exploiting the github actions CI code to inject crypto miner into the release artifacts. Clever but it's pretty sad that the project maintainers fell for it
