The war in Ukraine will continue, but (more?) cracks will start to form in the Western response come springtime. OpenAI introduces a new and improved version of GPT-3, and more people will ask questions about ethics and resource consumption

Why? The leaderboard fills up in anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. I bet it would take people at least as long to come up with a suitable prompt (just copying the text on the site doesn’t work), refine the response, and implement the solution

AFAIK, scheduled GitHub workflows stop running after a while. But when that happens, GitHub will send you an email with a big green “Continue running workflow” button.

I think Ubuntu Pro is free for personal use, but whether the terminal is the right place to put ads is a different question.

I was curious how a foreign university obtained a .EDU domain, but apparently, foreign universities could register a .EDU domain before 2001.

I don't think the public will ever learn what went wrong here, but whichever Googler fixes this will have one heck of a war story to tell over drinks.

I think changing the comma to a colon and adding "a" before "privacy-preserving" would make the title clearer.

I don’t understand how passkeys aren’t stored on external servers and can’t be phished, and yet they sync via iCloud Keychain (which is a nice thing to have). How does that work? Or do you have to trust Apple not to get hacked?
