Unfortunately with BT Sync there's no way to have it running somewhere while keeping the data encrypted. I don't want any potential attacker on my server to have access to my unencrypted files.

When I was 18 I did write a small OS for fun... now that I'm older (24), I do not have the time or the motivation to do that again... the first thing that would pop in my mind would be «why? it would remain only a hobby project. I got bette
