I found Terraform buggy, and really disliked its language. Upgrade paths are a pain. The fact that Pulumi runs on classic, Turing-complete languages is a huge plus to me. Unless your infrastructure is so large and managed by so many departm

I couldn't find much about it. I was learning to program MFC at the time, and just before Windows XP appeared Microsoft started experimenting with that flat buttons style, which I really wanted to adopt my apps. I don't think it w

Good or bad specced machine, it's fun seeing the Firefox process use 150% CPU when playing a 4K video with no hardware acceleration. Meanwhile it uses 15% CPU on Windows. Might be my underpowered 10900K or $1500 GPU.

Sure, and FF for Linux was always second to FF for Windows, where the experience was better than both platforms. On Linux hardware accel is still iffy, on macOS they implemented support for CoreAnimation one or two years ago, and still look

This is a forum composed mostly of software engineers working on web technologies in young companies or startups, which means we're usually at the bleeding edge of computing. The TIOBE Index represents the world of computing at large,

To be honest I think the desktop question is misleading. x86 to most is a known quantity, there is very few specific reasons to choose ARM instead of x86. But if desktop ARM becomes commonplace, it's a good indicator that ARM is finall

Cross-compiling isn't fun. If my next startup is powered by a high performance C++ core that it's built on x86, you bet I'm going to run it on x86 instead of trying to cross-compile it for ARM, for which benefit by the way? I
