Of course. But for the moment, being self hosted is just reinventing the wheel when there's so much existing infrastructure. That being said, it is difficult, probably impossible, for Go to be a C replacement, but you're using the wrong arg

I've a slightly different machine: MBA 4.2, 2011. However, I still encounter an annoying bug in the SMC: fan won't shut up unless there's a sleep - wakeup cycle. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964 - it doesn't help. Had a SMC upgrade this

This argument is getting old. What was the first, the egg or the chicken? Was the first C implementation passed down on stones drawn from the void of the Universe? At some point bootstrapping was needed for the implementation to be self hos

I got it now. The issue is the language barrier. And by language I mean my native language where "ordered" is sometimes used as synonym for "sorted" (at least in CS and Math fields), hence the confusion.

Most of the time, getting the right answer is a matter of asking the right question. If most experienced people can't ask a fairly simple question, then maybe the question is to blame. That bit about the "computer science point of view" may

As a kid, figured out that by myself. In elementary school I was the typical victim. The words did not hurt me as the random people I don't care about are just that. Their opinion does not matter. However, that changed the moment it degener

Tegra 3 is anything but new. It's a 15 months old SoC. Besides, not enough info about Cortex A15.

I'm actually typing these from my MBA. However, the article only talks about iOS which kinda is the opposite of OSS. News flash: it is a totally closed ecosystem. Without jailbreak, you're pretty much at the mercy of the mighty grey apple.

Probably I'm going to get bashed for pointing out the obvious, but: Open Source Advocate and Apple fanboy? At the same time? How's that even remotely possible?

The redundancy across AZ's is limited to the removal of the zone from the ELB config if all the instances from that AZ are marked as failed. If the API is down, tough cookies. All you get is 503 errors for each request hitting the failed AZ

A remote can have multiple url entries. 'git push origin master' in my case pushes to Bitbucket, then GitHub. Must be manually added through 'git config -e' though. The order is important as it pulls from the first remote URL, while the pu

GitHub for Windows has a decent git implementation for cli. Uses PowerShell and posh-git though, but a *nix head like me finds it very usable.

Have you tried piping the dump directly to a compression tool? We use pbzip2 for our dumps which works great if you have some CPU power to spare. The largest was around 8 Gigs uncompressed, but the total size of the plain text dumps is over

Actually I am such an owner. I'm interested to see if the AWS SDK could be used as foundation, even though my own implementation is just a thin wrapper plus an S3 client, most of the time doing the low level plumbing (such as request signin

Not all the owners go AWOL, especially for pieces of code that were created for the purpose of going into production. In fact, the lack of official SDK support is the actual cause of so many alternatives. For some of us, it creates a proper
