Excuse me, but I believe using a google website to get to content negates the whole discussion over how to prevent webscale surveillance by advertising companies. In other words, if your "solution" to the problem as outlined in th

There is no evidence, just innuendo, raw emotion, and pure discounting of personal responsibility. Many seem to want all the perceived benefits of FB, but none of the costs. Just to be clear, I don't use, nor like FB.

It is possible this random person on HN was using PGP, so I don't think it's fair to use "every single" verbiage as it is clearly hyperbole.

I think something shady was going on with the company formally known as Axciom: "On May 14, 2014, Acxiom announced that it had acquired LiveRamp, a data onboarding company, for $310 million. LiveRamp was founded in 2011 as a spinout o

We aren't but you all acting like snowflakes over DVs is absurd, and you're replying to a 25-day old account. I don't give a shit at all about this drama; my preference is that you contain your meltdowns to reddit.

My grandfather was born in the 1890's in what was then called Indian Territory (aka Oklahoma). He refused to go to the doctor for his entire life. He had a heart attack at ~70 and died a week later in the hospital. No procedures, drugs

Sorry for the off-topic (and cyberstalking :), but that blog post about Instagram's acquisition by FB? It has not aged well, but would be interesting with an update 6 years later.

For those of us that are far away and oblivious, can you elaborate and cite your sources. Your claim seems plausible, even if missing the word 'vote,' but I can't evaluate without more evidence.

For anyone with a stoic, scientific understanding there is a point where both beings become equal during gestation. This probably occurs somewhere around 20 weeks. However, <2% of abortions are had after this time. It is a necessary evil

What if one were to run one of these "privacy-enhanced blockchain"s from a VPS (paid for with these same anonymized tokens)? In case it's not clear, I'm earnestly asking this question

While I haven't listened to your linked episode, 'privacy laws' by definition come into direct conflict with the 1st amendment (i.e. free speech) to the U.S Constitution.

Please don't take offense: Just FYI, 'wanna' is a contraction of 'want to,' so writing 'wanna to' is redundant.

As a republic, governed by the US Constitution, the 1st Amendment is clearly written to prevent such stupidity. I can't believe this is even being entertained on HN.

I agree with you in this case, but you shouldn't refer to your parent as a troll when they are a long-term participant on HN. I believe there is good faith in this this argument and there is no good reason to be rude.
