Could you elaborate? I myself haven't seen much compelling evidence against GMOs.

GraphQL supports both queries to access data and _mutations_ to change data: mutation { createUser(u: "user", p: "pass") { u, p } }

Agreed. I often figure out a solution to a problem I'm having as soon as I stand up from my desk!

This sounds like a good use case for Promise.all() and fetch: const first = fetch(endpoint1); const rest = Promise.all([ fetch(e2), fetch(e3), fetch(e4), ]); // cancel here const json1 = await first.json(); const

I tried making PNGs before from bytes but got stuck on CRC generation - the math just seemed way over my head. Is there a simple way to explain CRC for someone with just a high school mathematics background?

I think there's merit to both arguments - but I agree with the grandparent comment in that too often nowadays we tend to dismiss people in Ivy League colleges as simply products of a wealthy background. As a current public high school

Isn't this essentially a winner-take-all situation, though? Capitalism tends towards winner-take-all systems, but not all winner-take-all systems are capitalistic. I find the example fitting.

There are quite a few submissions on here that aren't tech or startups but still can have value to the HN audience.

To implement rudimentary proof of work, you could add a nonce field and then force every block hash to start with a certain number of zeroes - I'll see what I can do and submit a pull!

Yes - when I was learning Spanish I was told that the exceptions to the la -a rule (i.e. words that end with "a" usually are feminine) are from Greek. For example, "el problema", "el sistema"

Does anyone know how to generate a visualization like the one under reason #2 ("Battle Tested")? Here's the gif: http://imgur.com/K5a7U9O.gif
