That would be more like there being no setting to tell Meta to stop sending you cakes, but them continuing to send cakes. Except they take something from you, instead of giving.

Which why originally much more was decided by consensus and if there is no consensus then simply every country can do their own way. I feel like a lot of things actually reached a local optimum in the 90s in our approach to improve things,

On my own computer I can open a context menu and select an action with a single click. Whenever I need to use MS Windows, I always need two and I find that infuriating every time.

I don't see the point of this rename. Why don't you also rename every city to city of America, and every road to American road?

How is finding one person suitable to be a parent (to make them a foster parent) differently hard, than finding another person suitable to be a parent (to marry them)?

How is “not available yet” different from "Don't know"? How is incomputable different from “will never be available”? > SQL shouldn’t even have null But it needs to, because it needs to represent half of a result record

30 years ago is only 1996. I very much do debug code from that time and am glad for anything useful written in the commit message. URLs are useful, because either the website still exists or it is maybe in the wayback machine.

I'm just curious. I think they still believe to have a consistent worldview themself, as every human does. My question was more regarding their self-understanding and less the kind-of "marketing" they throw at outsiders.

Yeah, but how do they explain, that the same world looks different, e.g. having different distances and angles depending on the map "type"? This is kind of important for traveling, navigating or measuring the size of the property
