The new unorder containers are very nice. They are containers based-on hash table data structures and are very fast for certain problems. It's nice to have them in the standard.

OpenBSD does not sign patches. They do not release binary patches to base, only source, and they are not signed. Go to misc and ask them to sign patches. They'll flame you forever and suggest if you want to be sure the source is from them t

Yes, and after the fact, they sound like excuses (even when they are true and they are not meant to be excuses as in this case).

Use SHA1_Pass and never store, synchronize or remember a password ever again. Comes with full source code and no proprietary encryption. Full disclosure, I wrote the software and am the number one advocate ;)

I've noticed that some large retailers put out new releases on blue-ray and hold DVDs for later release (two or three weeks later). A local Walmart close to me does that. So If I don't own a blue-ray player and I want to buy a new release,

If I were rich, the only thing I would do differently is to tell people what I really think (when asked for an opinion) rather than tell them what I think they want to hear.

Places I rented over the years either had music blaring next door or loud parties periodically or I could hear other couples having sex, cockroaches from neighbors, etc. (this was in the nicer areas). I've had my fill of all that. Owning

No need to berate the guy. We've all made silly mistakes before. Yes, I know that this is bad, but there's no need to send him harassing emails.

You can still add g++, boost and other high-quality C++ libraries to OpenBSD via ports/packages. They just prefer plain C in the base install. Plain C is inline with their "keep it simple" philosophy.

Use SHA1_Pass for all of your passwords. It's awesome. Never store, type or forget a password again. Full disclosure, I'm the author.

If the app is useful to you and it is free and not inundating you with ads, a positive review is the least you could do in return. It seems reasonable.

A lot of people look the same to me (unless I know them). They are just faces in the crowd. Because of this, I'd never swear under oath that I saw a stranger do something. Unless the person had a very distinct scar or birth mark or purple h

Great article. This is why I use and love C++. It will be used for the next 50 years or longer. Learning it (or any other foundational, open source programming language) is a must.

Is it your own project? If so, I'd base the decision on libraries you rely on in your code. If the libs can do 2 or 3, then go ahead and migrate to 3. If they only do 2, stick with what you have. Some libraries may never make the move, othe

The use of gotos rather than function calls is interesting... man that's gutsy programming! I'd never thought to do that when considering optimizations.
