Looks like countries need to look into decentralized DNS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namecoin

Great job guys! I'm a big fan of what whisper systems is doing. Why is this not called redphone though? Does it have different features? Edit: Looks like the article says it is part of a plan to merge redphone and textsecure.

That looks amazing. Is there anything similar for Firefox? Edit: relevant issue: https://github.com/gorhill/httpswitchboard/issues/86

Websites need to start taking more responsibility with HTTPS. Reddit, and a few other popular sites can also have their sessions hijacked.

Are you being sarcastic or do you really think they are nothing to worry about? If people just accept any cert they see anyone could just mitm them with a self signed cert.

Are there any phones that currently do this?

I'm really interested in a less-trackable cell phone, but until I read this article, It didn't seem possible. I am really hoping a fully open source phone comes to the market soon. It wouldn't have this ping "feature&quo

If you are trying to avoid being tracked by Google I don't recommend using Chrome.

People's need for a decentralized, pseudononymous currency gives Bitcoin value.

Where does the value of USD come from?

Do you believe that there are not any people who want an anonymous(Edit: pseudononymous), decentralized currency?

I couldn't agree more. IAP have destroyed sandbox games. I love the old Sim Tower and Moon Tycoon games. I would love a port of them to mobile. Sandbox games nowadays are all about trying to squeeze every last penny out of the customer

I think this is a good idea. It could be combined with a system similar to HSTS so banks could protect against MITM attacks.

But if a site is self signed the browser could show something like "This site is not authenticated, don't enter any personal info/passwords"

I think I have a good idea to solve this. What if a system similar to HSTS was implemented? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security important sites (banks) could send a "don't allow self

They are probably using HSTS to keep users from accepting unsafe certs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security

This is a very good extension, I have been using it for a while. It is very much the best of both worlds, using cookies to login, then deleting them when you leave the site. You don't have to worry about whitelists, etc.

While it wasn't stated in the article, I believe this system will lead to fully "protected" websites. Things you and me take for granted such as copying text, downloading an image, or modifying a URL to navigate a site easier

If all major browsers support eme, every website will use it. Say goodbye to youtube-dl. Maybe next year eme will be updated to "protect" html. Soon the entire web may be a closed system. It doesn't matter what the FCC decide

Interesting concept, too bad you overide scrolling. I wanted to check out your website but it was too annoying on mobile. Can your target customer not afford browsers that scroll?

This is a really good idea. Everyone knows everyone else has 100 more dollars in their pocket, and the smart kids will come up with business ideas to collet the bitcoins.
