I really enjoyed that Activision "shovelware" cd. For a time it made up a large part of my (Linux) game collection. It is not leaving my collection.

I try to get as many (mostly older, 2D) Windows games as possible to run in QEMU (VirtualBox in the past). Not many work, but those that do just keep working and I expect they will just always work ("always" relative to my lifetim

The a500mini plays those from USB drives. Seems to work well, but I mostly use mine to play Kick Off 2, so have not explored other features much.

DOSBox-X is a port that is actively developed and has many features missing in vanilla DOSBox. There are a few other ones as well. DOSBox Staging is one. Magic DOSBox seems to be the most popular on Android. There is some iOS port as well.

They are not supposed to do that, but some clients have an option to enable it anyway. There are also clients that make a second request to ask for a favicon. In the spirit of the protocol the "icon" is just a UTF-8 symbol, but th

I have had very bad success rate with my old Windows CDROM/DVD era games. Pretty much all of them either have some kind of DRM or they run but with bugs. When available I just buy the GOG versions instead, but even those versions sadly

When the first version came out, around the time I got my first job, it felt like everyone around me had read this book, and for a long time we were throwing around quotes from this book. Sadly after a few years it felt like the only thing

Yes. The main reason I do not want to take notes on paper is the lack of instant backup and sync. These devices seem to have the same drawback. Maybe you could have networking enabled, but only in the background and without any software at

If it was maintained (security fixes and platform support only), but with no other changes, it would be a very tempting alternative to python3 for the many times API stability is valuable.

It would be sad if, after all those years, it was still missing anything significant. Maintenance mode sounds like a good thing, not something that makes me tempted to switch to some less stable alternative.

QEMU does a pretty good job at pretending to be a 1997 computer, or a 2025 computer, and it seems to work well to run QEMU inside of QEMU already, so should be somewhat likely that old virtual machines can be kept alive by running inside of

That was not what I tried to say. Brogue, like other similar games, can be played in a TUI mode, in the terminal, or with a GUI. Same game, just different UI implementations, and both tend to be about equally laggy, or usually the GUI versi

I do not use an ad-blocker, but NoScript blocks 99.999% or so of ads anyway, so my guess is you will rarely see any ads in Dillo either.
