Agree that ninja+something can be much better than make. ninja is such a clean minimal design. But cmake? Really? cmake —-help-full is like 2.5MB, and looks like it refers to any know library and tool in the universe. Mahbe I am missing by

Only key size. And public exponent. And padding algorithm. And prime generation algorithm. Remember what happened with Infineon’s on-device generated keys?

Transients. FFT is time-symmetrical, so signals that start because of an event (like a mallet hitting something) have a lot of "nothing audible "above 20kHz", because of the abrupt start. Forcing nyquist limit on such signal

Yes, but would you like to have a choice, when to look at these photos? Imagine that someone buys a bottle of alcohol. Should he not have an option not to drink it, even if Alexa says he should?

it just works, except when it doesn't. Two ipads, same settings, one works, the other doesn't. No way to troubleshoot. Two macs, extending screen from A to B terminates universal control from B to A. If this is beta, then why was

Exactly! Have you tried peeling potatoes with iPad? It cannot even do that properly! /s ipad as a tool is a very good tool, it's just not a linux laptop. Asides, too bad samsung killed Linux on Dex, now that was something special.

On a long tangent: now that Apple is pushing Atmos, is it possible to somehow package quality stems in an Atmos track that sounds mastered?

Apple Music is terrible with no help from Siri. Say, I listen to Dva, the czech duo. Apparently it is the same artist as some rapper Dva. I wonder who gets the money. Don’t get me started on “various artists”. Or search.

Is it somehow possible to tell gcc/llvm “This program will never terminate normally. Please don’t bother with static dtors” ? Or at least somehow purge all that code when linking?

Meh. It’s such a good trackpad, but the way dragging works (for resizing, selecting, drag and drop) makes it borderline hostile on a 4k monitor. Once you reach the edge of trackpad, it stops. Logitech trackball is not so accurate, but dragg

The most fun I remember having with this kind of tools was with Audiomulch. Dunno if it’s still alive. Almost zero time-to-fun, no need for tedious pre-setup before your patch is playable.

Like, can I connect two USB-C harddrives together to copy data? Usually (except when mentioned loudly by the manufacturer) USB midi devices are “device” devices, not “host” devices

Is there a modular audio environment like vcv/reaktor/max, where I could plug stuff together by typing text, instrad of mousing pips? I honestly tried to get into pd, but it felt like typing book using the character map.
