This is so shady and I "could" understand it coming from a random startup... but by a startup backed by YC? And that it gets it own Launch HN thread (while others startups had to do it in the batch posts?). This is no the first ti

Same here. Posting an exclusive online is not satisfaying anymore. Maybe because I grew up on times where other websites used to link to your website as Source? Now "influencers" will copy your exclusive on Twitter and Instagram w

I think the majority of them are known or not surpsiring at all, but there are a few ones that are interseting, like TikTok's hacking* of App Store title length. * I know it isn't hacking, but I couldn't find a better word?

As a HN reader from Argentina, I thank ColinWright to share this with the community. Here in Argentina we are very proud of Borges and his works - and it is always nice to see people from around the world discovering or revisiting him.

ISBN are different for paperback and hardcovers, even for the same title, so you should be able to get that info from the ISBN :)

Wow. I am from Argentina, and although not this one, we received some magazines from Spain in the 90s. That's who I learnt that Spain currency was the Peseta (and a few idioms as well!). I have good memories spending some afternoon rea

Sorry for the naive question, but to offer those prices, there are two options: A) Amazon is losing money to keep Netflix as their client, B) They are doing profit even with $0.20/TB, which means the $120/TB is, at least, 119.80 p

Wow, looks super nice. I think for a lot of people, specially in 3rd world countries, living in a place like that would be a complete upgrade (I'd do it!). Out of curiosity: what's the real reason that it is illegal to live there?

First of all, you'll need to make PHP to display "progress", probably you'll need to override ob_start() or something like that, and find a format that let you append new progress on the response on the fly. I guess you

I like this. I dont know if it is your goal, but I'd like to see you (or an alterantive) to succeed and be used by big companies, a la Stripe. Need to share a document? No need to reupload, it's already part of Securr. Share with

Is this a software problem? There are a lot of open sources (with their differences) platforms. From old forums, to more modern, etc. I think the problem is that people don't want or don't know how to use a forum. This is based in

I miss blue for links and purple for visited links. I think Google still does it (which is great for the nostalgic of the webs), but today links are mostly buttons/images and not text anymore. I remember also, in the 90s, was quite pop

Thanks for answering. The approach about adding the date on the where clause may not work. I may receive/ingest more data from that point in time after I made the report. Of course, the report wouldn't be updated, but I'd pre

How do you handle live data vs fixed data? If I am making a report, I want the charts to remain static - if not, over time, they may not match with what is said on the report. Is there an option to, after saving the report or run the query,

The Rolling Stones are one of the greatest bands of all times. The passing of one of its original members (who, by the way, was part of the band for 58 years) it's a cultural event that it is worth discussing it.
