Consider that autonomous braking systems know the distance required to stop and activate appropriately. Try getting a human to mimic that.

True, but commuting daily for the past 30 years sure seems to validate it.

Yeah. I suck at arithmetic. For the soda example, I just round down to 3 and say: "about $1". Much faster than worrying about 5 cents. But I also know how to solve for discount percentages, where most people would not, the article

There was a post a while back about submitting your information and some company would file the paperwork for you. I, foolishly, submitted my information. I believe others did as well and I never heard anything of it. Anyone recall the link

My company still says that today. All the while saying we should do them, but not impact our velocity. Yeah, okay.

Can someone explain why the Wi-Fi Alliance does not release detailed technical specs? It would be better for both members and non-members when potential technical problems can be avoided before millions of vulnerable devices are made, right

Yes -- I missed the "pool of candidates" part. I was assuming based on their defensive posture they were referring to the hiring manager dropping resumes of otherwise qualified individuals.

I don't understand how this didn't raise red flags from legal/HR. From the article: > In a statement, Google said [...] it has a "clear policy to hire candidates based on their merit, not their identity. At the same t

Yeah, but as I'm sure you heard before, newer reactors are really well-designed. I think the low death rate per kWh, effective risk to the environment, and carbon footprint are all clearly in favor of nuclear. The downsides: cost, time

The US makes quite a lot of small-arms for other countries. Banning manufacture is not going to happen. Treating semi-autos like NFA/GOPA weapons (eg. automatics), would be a start. Even Trump's suggestion to raise the minimum age

Thanks for reminding me about this problem. A few websites I visit have spammy ads that do this and it is very frustrating, but I forget as soon as I leave the loo. And now I have FF and uBlock Origin on my phone.
